Verb “To Be”: simple present, affirmative, negative, yes/no questions and information questions.

• “To be” verbs simple present are conjugated as follows:
I = am.
He-She-It = is.
You-We -They = are.
• The verb To Be is used to describe or tell us the condition of people, things, places and ideas.
• For example, they could tell us the subject’s age ( I am 43 years old), nationality (she is from Costa Rica, job or other traits (He is a doctor).
A. Affirmative sentences
Structure
Subject + verb To Be (AM IS ARE) + Noun / adjective/preposition
Examples:
I am a nurse. (Noun) It tells about people/thing´s condition. (Occupation, name, gender)
They are intelligent. (Adjective) It gives characteristics about someone or something.
She is in Mexico. (Preposition) It describes the location of people or things.
B. Negative sentences
Examples:
• Are you Maria? Yes, I am.
• Is she a shy person? No, she is not. She is extroverted.
• Are you in London? Yes, I am.
Examples:
• What‘s her name?
• How old is Baby Bot?
• How are they feeling?
• Where are you from?
• Do you know what my profession is?
• What are you doing?
